Dog Friendly Cottages in the Lake District – Fern & Maple Cottage

We’d love to welcome your four legged friend at Fern Cottage and Maple Cottage. These two cosy, well equipped cottages are perfect for guests exploring Cumbria with their dog.

We welcome well behaved dogs for a small fee of £25 per stay, per dog. Each cottage can accommodate one medium to large dog or two small dogs.

The Lake District is full of dog friendly pubs, cafes, and walking trails, and the local area is known for being especially welcoming to dogs.

Both cottages have a secure, enclosed garden - ideal for quick outdoor visits.

Dog Policy – What You Need to Know Before You Book

• Dogs must not be left alone in the cottage at any time.

• Please keep dogs off all furniture and respect the interior.

• Use the entrance hall or conservatory to dry and clean your dog before entering.

• We don’t allow puppies.

• Please add your dog at check out when making your booking.

• Bring your dog’s own bed and poo bags.

Important Local Information

Our cottages are close to farmland and livestock, with sheep often right next to Fern Cottage. Dogs must be kept under control at all times, and on a lead in the village during lambing and bird nesting season (1 March – 31 July).
